Review Summary:

This is a good dehumidifier that can be used for medium to large homes. The user gets a nice range of manual controls, but this machine also offers the convenience of auto settings. It works especially well in warmer settings, but it does have frost control to help it perform at low temperatures. With 18L of extraction, this is a model that can be great for homes with significant moisture problems.

The Ebac 2650E 18L dehumidifier provides great extraction capabilities and it comes with a range of features to make this one of the most user-friendly models on the current market. It uses a refrigerant-based system to condense the water from the air and it comes with Ebac’s smart automatic control system for improved efficiency and performance.

With up to 18L of extraction per day, this model can be good for homes with four bedrooms or less. You get great performance in warm weather, with the optimal operating temperature being somewhere around 30-degrees. It can work all the way down to 3-degrees, but the performance does start to diminish as you get closer to freezing. However, this machine does have an anti-frost system and it does offer good low temperature performance for a compressor model.

The 2650E comes with a convenient electronic control system that provides the user with a good range of options. You have a range of different settings for controlling the humidistat manually and you also have two auto modes. This machine comes equipped with a range of sensors that help it to detect the conditions in the home. This will provide increased efficiency while also keeping the environment at a comfortable humidity. In addition to that, you also get a boost setting that provides maximum operation for increased water extraction.

With this 18L dehumidifier, Ebac provides a 3.5L water tank. With a model that can extract this much water per day, it is good to have a big water tank. This machine is also very easy to empty. The tank is in the front of the machine for easy access and it comes with a handle and a closed top. This makes the 2650E hassle-free when it comes to removing and emptying the tank.

This model does have antibacterial filtration, but the filters will need to be changed from time to time. You can maintain the filters by cleaning them with a vacuum, but depending on the use, they will need to be replaced every 4-6 months. You could just keep cleaning the dust from the filters to keep the machine running well, but after a while, it will lose the ability to remove particulate contamination from the air. A 3-pack of the filters cost about £20-25, so this additional operating cost may be something to consider.

This seems to be a reliable appliance and it should last the consumer for years. Ebac also backs this machine with a 2-year warranty and there is the option to buy a 5-year extended warranty.
